Should Everton wade into PSG row and splash cash for Edinson Cavani?
Everton's failure to sign a striker appears to have cost them dearly, with the Toffees floundering in recent weeks.
The Toffees tread a tricky line in January. Clubs know they need a striker, and are likely to charge them high price for mediocre talents.
This is why if Everton are going to spend big, they should simply set their sights high, and should monitor the ongoing developments at Paris Saint-Germain.
The arrival of Neymar has ruffled the feathers of Edinson Cavani, who PSG bought for £55.3 million in 2013.
Cavani has publicly clashed with new signing Neymar, and The Metro even report the Brazilian wants his teammate sold.
The Uruguayan striker may have his sights set higher than the Toffees, but their profile is increasing and if they still have Europa League football to offer in January (questionable at this rate), then they may stand a chance.
Cavani would put Everton on the map, and could help their glut of playmakers finally flourish.
Clubs across Europe will be monitoring developments, and the one who is bold enough to put the right bid together could just tempt the striker away.
Everton should concentrate some effort on attempting to make it happen, rather than overpaying for Championship level strikers like Kenneth Zohore. |
