Popular bookmakers SkyBet have made Everton shock second-favourites in the race to sign Real Madrid's Columbian superstar James Rodriguez at 10/1.
Madrid are believed to want around £65 million for the 25-year-old.
With the sale of John Stones, however, and Romelu Lukaku's potential exit, the Toffees will be heavily cash rich, and a move for Rodriguez could be seen as a statement signing as they enter a new era under new ownership and management.
SkyBet still list Chelsea as the favourites for the Madrid man's signature at 7/2, but it is Everton's move into 10/1 from 20/1 which has attracted most attention.
