There are several players being monitored, a number of deals being considered.
Andre Gray, of Burnley, is one such example.
The 25-year-old is on Everton’s radar this summer as they look to bolster their attacking options.
He headed to Burnley for around £10million in the summer of 2015, making him the most expensive Championship signing that summer.
With just 12 months of his contract remaining, Gray would be available at a cheaper price than usual this summer.
He was reportedly subject to a £15million bid from West Ham in January, while Newcastle and Tottenham have also been credited with an interest.
Nine goals is not a bad haul for a debut Premier League campaign – particularly in a side which created fewer chances than any side other than Middlesbrough and Sunderland this season.
He finished the Championship league’s top scorer in 2015/16 with 25 goals in 43 appearances.
