Wayne Rooney Everton return prospect pleases Blues boss Koeman
Everton manager Ronald Koeman has revealed he would love to bring Wayne Rooney back to Goodison Park.
The Blues boss was asked about the possibility of England's captain re-joining his boyhood club during a press conference today ahead of the West Ham game.
Manchester United skipper Rooney's future has recently been a topic of discussion, with speculation he could leave Old Trafford for China or Major League Soccer in the US next term.
But pressed on the possibility that Croxteth-born Rooney, 31, could instead come home to Merseyside, Koeman said: "He is a great player and he still hasn’t finished his career. I don’t know his situation is, I need to respect that.
"But even if there is a possibility that Rooney was an option for Everton, I would be very pleased." |
