Romelu Lukaku’s Stamford Bridge return has stalled because Michy Batshuayi is reluctant to join Everton.
The Premier League champions are unwilling to meet Everton’s £100million valuation for Lukaku, and have proposed a swap deal involving Batshuayi.
However, his preference is to return to the South of France, and could get his wish with Monaco known to be interested.
Chelsea signed Batshuayi from Marseille for £33million but he’s failed to live up to expectations and is now considered surplus to requirements in West London, The Times claim.
The Blues aren’t prepared to pay more than £70million for Lukaku, who they allowed to leave for £28million in 2014, but will consider swapping other players if Batshuayi refuses.
